♦ Albrecht Durer
Albrecht Dürer was a renowned German painter, printmaker, and theorist of the German Renaissance. Born on May 21, 1471, in Nuremberg, he established his reputation across Europe in his twenties due to his high-quality woodcut prints.
Some of his most famous works are the engravings "Knight, Death, and the Devil" (1513), "Saint Jerome in His Study" (1514), and "Melencolia I" (1514). Dürer passed away on April 6, 1528, in Nuremberg. His legacy continues to influence artists and art enthusiasts around the world.
