Mathew and his friends called the girl “Horrible Hettie” because she always pushed her way to the front of the queue at lunch, even when it was someone else's turn, and then she would make a horrible, mean face.

Mathew noticed that Simon acted a little differently from the other boys and girls in his class. Sometimes he would get upset about something small like someone bumping into him by accident. Simon always liked to arrange the books and pencils
on his desk in the same way every day. He didn’t like it very much when anything changed at all.

Simon’s story tells us that it is important to be kind and patient with people who are different. When we understand them, they can be wonderful friends. Everyone deserves respect.
