• One teaspoon mustard seeds

• One or two green chillies (chop finely)
• A few curry leaves

• Two cups of water
Roast the rava in a pan until it becomes golden brown. Keep it aside. Heat the oil in another pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Chop onion and green chillies, then add them with curry leaves. Fry for a minute. Pour two cups of water into the pan and add salt. Let the water boil. Slowly stir in the roasted rava, mixing well so no lumps form. Cook for a few minutes until soft. When ready, serve it onto plates.

Unnikkuttan placed the bag on a bench, opened it and inspected the contents. Yes, his school kit was complete with the Malayalam Reader for the First Standard and the slate. This was actually Unnikkuttan’s second slate in less than two weeks. The first had slipped from his hands and broken to pieces.
