♦ Let’s understand how to draw pictures using KolourPaint software
To open the KolourPaint Window
Applications → Graphics → KolourPaint
♦ Let's draw the 'Frame'.
• Select the Rectangle Tool from the Toolbox in the KolourPaint. Now, try to click on the Canvas and drag it.

♦ To save the file in the KolourPaint
• Click on ‘Save document’ in the Main Toolbar.
• Type a name for the file in the window opened
• Click on ‘Save’

♦ Let's Draw the River and the Sky
We need a line (the horizon) to separate the river and the sky. To draw it, select the ‘Line Tool’ when you draw. You have to draw from the border of the frame.

♦ A Boat on the River
The best tool for drawing a boat with a sail is the Polygon Tool.
• Click the mouse on the spot where you want to start the drawing
• Click on all three sides
• Take the mouse pointer to the starting spot and deselect the tool by right-clicking
• Mistakes can be erased using the Eraser Tool.
• Click on Edit → Undo to get the erased portions.
• To apply more than one colour to the sail. Draw lines across the sail.

♦ Let's Paint our Picture
Choose an appropriate colour from the colour palette. Fill the colour in the background and the boat.

♦ Let’s Paint the Shore and the Woods
• Draw carefully the outline of the shore and the woods using the Pen tool. Then, select a suitable colour to paint them. 
• Apply light and shade to the picture.
• Use light colour where the light is more and strong colour where the light is less.
• To apply light and shade using the ‘Spraycan’ tool.
