• Nodded - തലയോട്ടി  
• Whispered - മന്ത്രിച്ചു  
• Worst - ഏറ്റവും മോശമായത്  
• Warmth - ചൂട്  
• Pay attention - ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക  
• Wrinkled - ചുക്കിച്ചുളിഞ്ഞ  

Let’s revisit the poem
1. Identify similar activities of the boy and the old man and write them down.
Answer: Both of them drop their spoons, wet their pants and cry.

2. ‘I know what you mean...’ Why does the old man say so?
Answer: Because the Oldman is also lacking grown-up's attention. 

3. Is the little boy or the old man satisfied? Why? Justify your answer.
Answer: Both of them are not satisfied because no one is bothering about them.

Activity i
The little boy felt the warmth of a ‘wrinkled old hand’. Here ‘wrinkled old hand’ describes old age. Add a few more words describing old age.
e.g. grey hair
• poor eyesight
• poor hearing
• shivering hands
• sleeplessness

Pick out lines from the poem and rewrite them in the form of a conversation.

Old man: I know your mind, I can understand you.
