1. What is your opinion about grandma's statement.
Answer: Yes. I agree with grandma. If you don't share stories with others, the stories cannot exist in the world. It should be passed from generation to generation.

2. What message does the fable convey?
Answer: You must work hard as you can. The rest will be done by the god. That means, if we do our part well, god will do something for us.

Fable
* A fable is a traditional short story that teaches a moral; especially one with animals as characters.

Proverb
*  A proverb is a short sentence that people often quote, which gives advice or tells something about life.

Activity 1
1. (a) Given below are some proverbs and sayings. Which of these can be taken as the moral of the story? Why?
Answer: God helps those who help themselves. 
The rich voyager did not do anything. He called for Athena to save him and
promised lavish offerings. Without doing anything ourselves and pray god to give everything is not the right way to acquire something in life.

(b) Look at the proverbs given below. What message do they convey?
Discuss.
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
God helps those who help themselves.
Answer: 
* A friend in need is a friend indeed.
A true friend helps the friend in his needs. He will help his friend in all his
situations even it is good or bad.
* God helps those who help themselves.
The importance of hard work. God gives us all the capacities to work hard. Mere worship will not lead us to success.
